In Addition to Being Strategic for Supplying Petrobras Refineries, Project Will Provide Greater Operational Flexibility and Efficiency for Importing and Exporting Oil
Good news for the city of Macaé! Açu Petróleo announced yesterday (03/09), in a relevant fact to the market, that it has signed a Preliminary Agreement with Petrobras and Transpetro for the interconnection of its Oil Terminal, located in the Port of Açu, to Petrobras’ Cabiúnas Terminal in Macaé-RJ.

According to the announcement, the agreement consists of detailing the basic requirements and technical engineering studies for the future interconnection between the Terminals.
The interconnection between the terminals is part of the Spot Project and is included in the company’s business expansion plan, which will allow for the use of Açu Petróleo’s Terminal for supplying the Reduc and Regap refineries.

The Spot Project is at an advanced stage of development and licensing and provides for the construction of 12 oil tanks with a total capacity of 5.7M bbl and two pipelines.
In addition to being strategic for supplying the refineries, Açu Petróleo states that the Spot Project will provide greater operational flexibility and efficiency for importing and exporting oil.

Siemens Secured a Major Order at the End of Last Year for the Construction of the GNA II Thermal Power Plant in the Port of Açu; the Largest LNG Complex in Latin America Will Supply Energy to 14 Million Households!
Siemens Energy secured, in November of last year, a contract for the construction of the GNA II Thermal Power Plant, located in the Port of Açu, in the state of Rio de Janeiro – the largest LNG complex in Latin America. UTE GNA II will be the second combined cycle plant that Siemens Energy will build on a turnkey basis in the thermal complex, with an installed capacity of 1.7 gigawatts (GW).
The plant is being built in collaboration with its consortium partner Andrade Gutierrez, which will provide civil works infrastructure and assembly.
“Our participation in this exceptional project reinforces how our comprehensive approach to LNG – for – Energy; increases the added value for our partners and also meets the need for accessible and reliable energy,” states Jochen Eickholt, a member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy AG.
