According to the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, there is evidence that the prices practiced in the sector are being abusive and harming consumers. It is important that measures are taken to combat this practice and ensure greater transparency and fairness in the prices of the services offered.

The Ministry of Economy announced in a statement today that it considers crucial for airlines to seek options to lower the value of tickets. The note highlights the ministry’s commitment to making tickets more accessible for Brazilians, which in turn will contribute to the growth of civil aviation in the country.

At the event held on Wednesday (22), Costa Filho mentioned that the government is also working on measures to assist the companies. Among the possibilities, he mentioned analyzing ways to reduce the cost of aviation kerosene (QAV), which represents about 40% of the operational costs of airlines.

The National Department of Ports and Airports (DNPA) announced today that, after a new series of meetings with the airline operators, it decided to extend the deadline for delivering the action plan containing measures aimed at reducing airfares. The deadline has been extended by another 15 days and was a request from the ministry following a meeting held last week.

On that occasion, the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, informed that the companies would have 10 days to consider the proposals. During the announcement, the minister emphasized that there are practices of abusive price setting and that this situation will not be tolerated.
