It is also essential not to have previously been excluded from military service for disciplinary reasons, moral conduct issues, or incompatibility with the military career.
Find Out How to Register for the Air Force Competition
Those interested in the positions in the Air Force through the public competition must register through the EPCAR Website. When filling in the requested information on the form, the candidate must carefully check all the information entered on each screen and field. It is worth mentioning that a candidate who self-declares as black and wishes to opt for the reserved positions must, mandatorily, check this option on the FSI.
It should be noted that candidates registered in the Unified Registry for Federal Government Social Programs (CadÚnico) can request the waiver of the registration fee by providing their Social Identification Number (NIS), being of low income, and being a bone marrow donor in entities recognized by the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the law.
To request a waiver of the registration fee, the candidate must access the EPCAR electronic page during the registration period, and must fill out the request form, which includes all the required information.
Selection Process Stages
The selection process for the public competition consists of written tests covering subjects such as Portuguese language, English language, mathematics, and essay writing, health inspection, physical conditioning assessment test, psychological aptitude examination, complementary hetero-identification procedure (for candidates choosing to compete for reserved positions for black individuals in the Air Force), and document validation.
The written tests are scheduled for June 22. Those who pass all stages of the Air Force competition and are selected by the Special Evaluation Board (JEA) must report to the Preparatory School for Air Cadets (EPCAR), in Barbacena (MG), on January 10, 2026, for enrollment in the course, which lasts for three years.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive their high school completion certificates and the CPCAR certificate and will be eligible to compete for the number of spots available for enrollment in the first year of the Air Force Officers Training Course at the Air Force Academy (AFA).
