The German government, through the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, will select 10 Brazilians to have access to a scholarship in Germany of up to 2,600 euros, equivalent to R$ 13,500 in direct conversion, and develop a project that can positively impact society over the course of one year.
Requirements to Apply for the Scholarship in Germany
The basic requirements for those wishing to apply for one of the scholarships offered by the German government are:
- Work in areas such as politics, business, media, administration, society, or culture and have demonstrable initial leadership experience;
- Possess Brazilian, Chinese, Indian, South African, or American citizenship;
- Have completed their first academic degree (bachelor’s or comparable degree) no more than twelve years ago. The fixed date for calculating this twelve-year period is October 1, 2024;
- Desire to conduct a self-developed project with a host of their choice in Germany;
- Have good knowledge of English and/or German.
This scholarship for future leaders takes Brazilians to Germany for a year to implement a project idea that they have developed. The fellowship will help the participant connect with future international leaders to find new answers to the global issues of their time.

Those selected will receive a monthly scholarship of 2,000, 2,300, or 2,600 euros, depending on their background and career level, individual support during their stay in Germany, an intensive language course before starting their scholarship, and funding for German courses during their scholarship, joint events where they experience intercultural professional and personal exchange with other scholarship recipients from their cohort and gain insights about German culture and society, networking activities that enable collaboration in peer groups, and independently organize smaller networking formats with other scholars, among other benefits.

Applications for the Scholarship Program are open until October 15. The selected participants will have a reserved meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the end of their stay in Germany. The president of the Brazil-Germany Socio-Cultural Institute, which conducts the entire process in the country, Thomas Timm, reveals that the average number of applications in Brazil is around 150 per year.
The country, according to him, stands out among the countries covered by the program, which also includes India, China, the USA, and South Africa.
According to Timm, this is an unparalleled initiative by the German government worldwide. It seeks leaders for Germany. In total, there are 50 scholarships in 5 countries, and Brazil is undoubtedly the one that stands out the most.

Motivation Letter
Explain what motivates you, your leadership experiences, and your career goals.
Project Plan
Describe the project that you have developed and agreed upon with the intended host before submitting your application.
Declaration
A thorough declaration, including a mentorship agreement with your host in Germany.
Letter of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation dated no more than 1 year from individuals who can provide information about your professional, academic, or personal background.
