Account of the 10-Year-Old Student and Reaction to the Feat
According to KABC-TV, Zora described obtaining the record degree as somewhat scary but also a lot of fun throughout the process.
The student stated that she did not mind breaking records, explaining that her main goal had always been to take mathematics courses, a field in which she shows continuous interest.
Still according to reported information, Zora will transfer to UC Irvine this fall, where she plans to pursue her education in mathematics at the higher level.
Christina Chow, the student’s mother, said that her daughter has always demonstrated resilience, explaining that the parents seek to identify individual interests and offer constant support.
According to her, in Zora’s case, the interests have always been related to pets, reading, and mathematics, elements present since childhood.

Family History of Academic Achievements
This is the third consecutive year that the youngest graduate record at IVC has been broken, always within the same family, involving Zora’s siblings.
Athena, one of the sisters, was 11 years old when she set the previous record in May 2024 by earning an associate degree in liberal arts.
The older brother, Tycho, was also 11 years old when he set the record in 2023, with his birthday occurring just a few days after his official graduation.
Athena would celebrate her birthday seven months after completing the course, while Tycho had already turned 11 at the time of the degree, according to reported information.
Currently, Athena continues taking courses at IVC, while Tycho is preparing to graduate from UC Irvine this month with a degree in mathematics.
According to reported information, Tycho plans to enroll in the doctoral program at the University of Southern California in August.
Athena stated that she and her siblings do not like the term genius to describe them, emphasizing that dedication and effort are core family values, even when we make mistakes along the way.

De fato, “eles” estão entre nós.
A família é dedicada.
