The Abras NielsenIQ ranking showed in 2024 that the Carrefour Group led with R$ 120.6 billion, while the sector totaled R$ 1.067 trillion in results in Brazil, indicating a broad impact as it involves 424,120 stores and 30 million consumers.
The survey indicated that the revenue of the Carrefour Group advanced 4.4% compared to the previous year, maintaining leadership among Brazilian supermarket chains according to Abras by gathering consolidated financial data.
Assaí Atacadista recorded growth equivalent to R$ 7.8 billion during the period, occupying a prominent position among the companies that increased their market share and reinforcing its role in sector expansion.

Of the 10 largest networks, five are headquartered in São Paulo, while Minas Gerais has two, and Maranhão, Paraná, and Santa Catarina each have one, showing a diverse geographic distribution in the ranking.
There were two position changes between 2023 and 2024, with Grupo Pão de Açúcar yielding the fourth position to Supermercados BH and Mart Minas reaching the eighth position previously held by Ceconsud.
The Abras document listed the 10 largest networks by revenue, with Carrefour at R$ 120.6 billion, Assaí at R$ 80.6 billion, and Grupo Mateus at R$ 36.4 billion, while Koch Hipermercados completed the list with R$ 10.3 billion.
