Karoon’s Bids In Brazil
In addition to the bids for interventions in oil wells and development of the Patola field, the company is also conducting a bid for a potential drilling of a control well at the Neon discovery, also in the Santos Basin.
Karoon must use the same drilling rig in the development of the Patola oil field and for the drilling in Neon.
The quarterly report from Karoon also informed the results and plans for the Baúna field, recently purchased from Petrobras. The acquisition of the asset made the oil company one of the largest oil producers on the Australian stock exchange.
According to the company, the FPSO Cidade de Itajaí, which operates in the area, will have a scheduled annual maintenance shutdown of eight days during the month of February.
Karoon had a production of nearly 15 thousand barrels of oil per day during the quarter in the field and plans to increase this volume through low-risk optimization of existing production wells and the development of the Patola discovery.
