Discovery Was Made in Deep Waters of Block BM-SEAL-4, in the Sergipe Alagoas Basin by Indian Oil Company ONGC and Now Commerciality Tests Begin
The Sergipe Alagoas basin continues to have very active offshore activity, and its recent gas discoveries have been equated and referred to as a new pre-salt.
In mid-last month, Click Petróleo e Gás had already reported that the Sergipe Basin is expected to receive drilling by ExxonMobil as early as 2020, considering the blocks acquired by the company in the permanent offering auction.
This discovery was made by the Indian oil company ONGC, which announced a natural gas discovery at the Moita Bonita-2 well, located in deep waters of block BM-SEAL-4.
The asset is located at a water depth of 2,629 meters in the Sergipe Alagoas basin, with operation by Petrobras (75%) in partnership with the Indian company (25%).
