Addmotor Develops Electric Bike for R$ 13 Thousand with Capacity to Carry More Than 136 kg. The E-Bike Also Stands Out for Its Autonomy Above 300 km.
The Addmotor launched a new electric bike that, according to the company, has a nominal range of up to 210 miles, the equivalent to 338 km, on a single charge. Featuring two battery slots, each with a capacity of 960 Wh, the e-bike, named Graoopro, reaches the U.S. market for US$ 2,698, the equivalent of about R$ 13,660 at the current exchange rate.
Addmotor Electric Bike Reaches 32 km/h
The e-bike with dual battery is significantly more expensive; however, it can deliver up to 338 km of range on just one charge. According to Electrek, a specialized site, it is quite a long and powerful range for an electric bike.
The version with just one battery, which costs US$ 1,999, delivers a range of 169 km. This new market offering not only has an impressive range of up to 340 km on a single charge but also has the capacity to carry all the load you need, plus your child in a child seat mounted at the back.

Diving straight into the technology, the electric bike is capable of achieving such a long range due to its two batteries, each configured at 48 volts and 20 amp-hours. Together, the batteries deliver a total of 960 watt-hours of capacity, as previously mentioned.
According to the company behind the e-bike, this is sufficient to power the motor in the rear hub of the bike, which has a nominal power of 750 watts and a maximum power of 1,000 watts. This means a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour, which is about 32 km/h, in assist mode.
E-Bike Can Carry Up to 136 kg
All this power would not make sense without control, thus Addmotor includes an intelligent controller that offers seven levels of pedal assistance. The bike incorporates a torque sensor that promises seven levels of pedal assistance.
It is important to highlight that, however, the company claims that its torque sensor has 36 detection points; so it remains to be seen whether the so-called torque sensor on the electric bike is actually a torque sensor or an updated cadence sensor, something more commonly found in affordable e-bikes.
Putting performance aside, the Graoopro electric bike was primarily developed as a cargo bike for the city. Thus, it has a very impressive payload capacity. To begin with, the e-bike can support a weight of up to 136 kg for the rider, with an additional 68 kg for cargo on the rear rack.
With various electric bikes of this type, there are several accessories available, including various types of baskets, passenger seats, and child seats, allowing the rider to mix and match depending on what they are transporting throughout the day.
Other Technology Included in the E-Bike
Another technology included as standard in the kit is the EB2.0 LED lighting, which features front and rear lighting for better night visibility. The bike rolls on 24-inch wheels and is suspended by an 80-millimeter suspension fork in the front to smooth out uneven terrain.
The model comes with mechanical disc brakes, a telling sign that the electric bike was built with a somewhat limited budget. Additionally, the vehicle also includes fenders with a wooden platform for resting your feet.
