BNDES closes agreement at Hannover Messe with German development bank and European institutions, in Germany’s first contribution to the Climate Fund
The BNDES announced a fundraising of R$ 4.1 billion in Germany to finance the National Fund on Climate Change and green projects in Brazil, in an initiative negotiated at Hannover Messe, an industrial fair held in Hanover.
The contribution includes R$ 3 billion for the Climate Fund and R$ 1.1 billion for mobility projects, marking the first German investment in the fund, which already has a budget of R$ 27 billion by 2026, according to the statement.

The BNDES raised R$ 4.1 billion, equivalent to 700 million euros, in partnership with the German development bank and other European institutions. Of the total, R$ 3 billion will be directed to the Climate Fund and R$ 1.1 billion will support green mobility projects.

The text informs that the budget of the Climate Fund for 2026 is R$ 27 billion. Minister João Paulo Ribeiro Capobianco stated that the annual investments, which were around R$ 500 million between 2009 and 2023, have multiplied, reaching the current level.
