Brazilian Army competition gathers vacancies for career officers in different higher education areas, highlighting Medicine, Complementary Framework, and Religious Assistance. Selection includes military training in Salvador and eliminatory stages before definitive entry into the career.
Professionals with a higher education diploma can compete for 227 vacancies for career officers of the Brazilian Army, in a selection with opportunities in the areas of Health, Complementary Framework, and Religious Assistance, in addition to training at the Army Health and Complementary Training School in Salvador.
With applications open until June 12 and a fee of R$ 150, the competition includes candidates of both sexes and gathers vacancies in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Law, Journalism, Information Technology, Administration, Nursing, Psychology, Economics, Teaching, and Religious Assistance.
Distributed among different frameworks, the opportunities have training scheduled for 2027 and follow specific rules according to the chosen area, including requirements for education, age, documentation, intellectual evaluation, and complementary stages before enrollment in the course.

According to the schedule provided by the Army, the selection process will consist of an intellectual exam, health inspection, physical aptitude test, and psychological evaluation, with exams applied in various cities across the country and other phases organized according to each notice.
Army competition vacancies are concentrated in the Health area
In the division by areas, the Health Service gathers most of the opportunities, with vacancies for doctors, pharmacists, and dentists, in different specialties and with selection criteria that vary according to the type of offer provided in the notice.
Among the opportunities for Medicine, there are 152 vacancies, of which 109 are nationwide and 43 are regional, a modality in which the candidate chooses the desired location at the time of registration.
In national vacancies, trained professionals can be designated to work in different regions of Brazil, according to the classification obtained during the course, movement rules, and the administrative needs of the Brazilian Army.
When the competition is for regional vacancies, the choice of the city linked to the opportunity occurs during registration, allowing the candidate to compete directly for a location indicated in the notice, without disregarding the other requirements of the military career.
In addition to opportunities for doctors, the selection offers eight vacancies for pharmacists and eight vacancies for dentists, distributed among specialties outlined in the announcement, including work in Oncological Pharmacy, as officially announced by the Army.
Officer training at ESFCEx will last 37 weeks
After passing the selection stages, candidates classified for courses related to the Health area will undergo 37 weeks of training at the Army’s School of Health and Complementary Training, located in Salvador, Bahia.
Upon completing this stage, students in the Health area are promoted to the rank of 1st lieutenant, joining the military career with functions compatible with professional training and the needs defined by the institution.
Throughout their career, progression occurs according to the internal regulations of the Force, allowing dental and pharmaceutical officers to reach the rank of colonel, while doctors can attain the rank of major general.
During the training period, those approved receive military preparation and undergo adaptation to the professional routines of the Army, a stage considered necessary for the exercise of technical duties within the structure of the Land Force.
Complementary Framework offers vacancies in Law, Journalism, IT, and Teaching
In the Complementary Officers Framework, there are 57 vacancies for professionals from different backgrounds, including Administration, Accounting, Social Communication with a degree in Journalism, Law, Economics, Nursing, Statistics, Information Technology, Psychology, Pedagogy, and Veterinary Medicine.
This group also includes opportunities aimed at Teaching, with vacancies for teachers in the areas of Biology, Physics, Geography, History, English, Italian, Mathematics, Portuguese, and Chemistry, according to the training criteria defined in specific announcements.
For those approved in this framework, the training will also last 37 weeks, with promotion to the rank of 1st lieutenant after completing the course and subsequent performance in technical, administrative, educational, or advisory roles.
In the areas of Journalism, Law, and Information Technology, duties must follow the training required for each position, while details on required content, enrollment requirements, and other conditions remain defined in the opening announcements.
The competition also includes vacancies for military chaplains
In addition to technical and Health areas, the selection includes two vacancies for military chaplains of the Roman Catholic Apostolic creed, a framework with specific requirements related to training, religious practice, and other requirements outlined in the competition rules.
The training of military chaplains will have activities at ESFCEx, at the Military Academy of Agulhas Negras, in Resende, at the School of Sergeants of Arms, in Três Corações, as well as periods in Brasília and in the area of the 6th Military Region.
After completing the course, the military chaplain is appointed as a 2nd lieutenant and becomes part of the Force’s structure, with the possibility of further promotions according to the rules applicable to the framework and career path within the institution.
Among the conditions required for the religious area are educational requirements, proof of activity compatible with the informed creed, and meeting the common stages of the competition, such as health evaluation, physical fitness, and psychological assessment.
Who can participate in the Army officer competition
To compete, the candidate must have higher education compatible with the chosen specialty, in addition to meeting the general conditions for entering the military career, which involve documentation, health, physical fitness, psychological assessment, and other requirements provided in the notice.
As age criteria vary according to the framework and area of activity, the specific notice should be consulted before confirming registration, especially in careers with their own rules of training and professional practice.
The participation fee was set at R$ 150, while candidates registered in the Federal Government’s Social Programs Single Registry and bone marrow donors could request exemption within the period established in the notice.
Stages of the Army officer competition
The first phase will be the intellectual exam, a stage that assesses specific knowledge according to the intended area, with test structure, program content, and subject weights defined according to the framework chosen by the candidate.
After this evaluation, those classified will be called for health inspection, physical fitness test, and psychological assessment, phases that follow eliminatory or classificatory criteria according to the rules provided in each notice.
Even after passing the selective stages, admission to the training course depends on meeting the enrollment conditions, a stage prior to the definitive incorporation of the candidate as a student of the Army Health and Complementary Training School.
