The Gas Voucher is a social program created in December 2021 by the government of Jair Bolsonaro, aiming to pay R $52.00 to families every two months. The amount of R $52 would theoretically be equivalent to about 50% of the value of a gas cylinder. However, the cylinder is already well above that, costing R$ 140 in states like Santa Catarina. In other words, opposition groups argue that the minimum benefit amount should be R$ 70 to R$ 80.
Given that the Gas Voucher is paid on the schedule every two months for beneficiaries of Auxílio Brasil, who are registered in the Cadastro Único and have a monthly income below the poverty line set by IBGE, it is estimated that during this month of June, only citizens who were beneficiaries during the month of April will be able to receive it. Therefore, those who received the R$ 52 installment in May will have the additional contribution only in July, on the same day that the Bolsa Família substitute is expected to be paid in a single installment.

It is worth noting that the benefit can be withdrawn using the Citizen Card at both Caixa banks and lottery houses. Carrying documents is a way to ensure that you will be able to withdraw the amount in cash. To check if your balance is available, you should access the Caixa Tem app. There, you can check the balance amount, pay bills via QR Code, pay invoices, and make transfers / PIX without having to leave home.

Although Bolsonaro is being questioned about the matter, it is important to note that the Minister of Citizenship has not yet confirmed whether he intends to increase the Gas Voucher amount this year.
