Tesla's electric truck named 'Semi' is already considered the future of freight transport.
The billionaire CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, a few weeks ago confirmed on his social network, Twitter, that deliveries of the Tesla Semi, the long-awaited 100% electric cargo truck from the American automaker, will take place this year. Originally, Tesla's 100% electric cargo truck was announced in mid-2017, but only now has the company's page been updated and official images of the electric truck have finally been released. It is likely that the images released on Tesla's official page portray the final design of the electric truck.

The images revealed that the side mirrors of the electric model are quite conventional. So far, the only information provided by the American automaker is that only the long-range variant will actually be sold, with around 800 km of autonomy.
Its maximum gross weight rating of the 100% electric cargo truck is over 37 tonnes (or 82 pounds) and estimated electricity consumption is less than 2 kWh per 1,6 km (1 mile). The electric truck can also be fast even uphill.

According to Tesla, the truck can reach a top speed of 96 km / h in just 20 seconds, in addition to being able to maintain this limit even on more inclined or difficult to access terrain. The automaker made available the 'Tesla Megachargers', which are Tesla's ultra-fast charging stations, promising to recover about 70% of range in just 30 minutes.
Tesla's 100% Electric Cargo Truck Orders
Since the announcement of Tesla Motors' electric truck, there have been several orders for the new vehicle from the American automaker.
Among the companies that ordered the truck is PepsiCo, one of the giant companies in the food industry. A PepsiCo ordered around 100 units of the 100% electric cargo truck, with the aim of zeroing carbon (CO2) emissions at one of its manufacturing units, located in California.
Until then, the initial price announced by Tesla was around US$ 180. However, it is not yet known if there will be any readjustment in the value of the vehicle, or if it will remain the same estimated value in 2017.
safety and comfort
According to specifications on the official Tesla Motors website, the 'Semi' truck has factory safety features that combine with all advanced brake and engine controls, aiming to provide maximum stability and traction in all possible conditions.
When it comes to the driver's comfort, the seat is in a central position, favoring better visibility for the driver of the electric truck, in addition to a fully electric architecture that, according to the company, "reduces the risk of overturning and the invasion of the road". cabin in case of an accident”.
The 'Semi' model is already seen as the future of transportation by means of trucks, ahead of giants such as Volvo, Daimler and Scania, traditional assemblers of cargo vehicles.
