In Addition to Jobs in Quebec City, Brazilians Can Also Apply for Scholarships of Up to 40,000 Canadian Dollars

Those who dream of living abroad can take a look at the 430 job openings being offered in Quebec City, Canada, by the local economic development agency Québec International. The positions are available from 21 companies, in the fields of information technology, virtual games, health, and manufacturing.

In recent years, more than 500 Brazilians have settled in Quebec City to work, recruited through initiatives like this one, promoted by Québec International, which is the local economic development agency.

About the Job Openings

The contracts are for periods of one to three years and can be renewed according to the employer’s needs. Specific amounts are not mentioned, but it is stated that those selected will receive support for immigration procedures and will have salaries, working hours, and social benefits similar to those offered to Canadian professionals.

The pre-selected candidates will have online interviews via Skype between September 9 and 20.

Requirements

  • One of the requirements is to speak French — the required proficiency level varies depending on the position.
  • Some companies also require knowledge of English.

About the Scholarships

Students and researchers can also apply for scholarships — the amounts range from 15,000 to 40,000 Canadian dollars.

Thirteen scholarships are offered for master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral programs, in the fields of health, biological sciences, chemistry, geography, oceanography, and environmental studies. Applications are made on this website.

Application

Applications to participate in the selection process are open until August 11 through the site Québec En Tete.
