The Manufacturer Gathered Billion-Dollar Investments With The Goal of Structuring Its Operations in Brazil and Increasing the Production of Chery and Hyundai Vehicles in São Paulo and Goiás
In the last 15 years, the vehicle manufacturer Caoa has gathered billion-dollar investments, amounting to US$ 3 billion, to structure its operations in the automotive industry, which currently includes the manufacturing of vehicles from the Chery and Hyundai brands, with factories in Anápolis, Goiás, and Jacareí, São Paulo, which will become a production center for imported vehicles focusing on electric and hybrid vehicles.
These insights are explained by Caoa’s president, Mauro Correia, who received Automotive Business at the company’s headquarters in São Paulo and discussed how Dr. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira Andrade, known as CAOA, built his legacy, which began with the acquisition of a Ford dealership.
The director of the manufacturer also mentioned the restructuring that Caoa will implement at the car production factory in Jacareí, São Paulo, which will remain closed for three years after the dismissal of approximately 400 workers.

Caoa’s promise is to modernize the production unit so that it meets the standards of production in Goiás. The import of Chinese vehicles from the Exeed brand is not currently a focus for Caoa, contrary to what has been reported recently.
Lack of Components in the External Market Did Not Affect Caoa’s Vehicle Production in São Paulo and Goiás
Mauro Correia stated that the lack of electronic components in the international market did not significantly affect vehicle production in Brazil, in São Paulo and Goiás, which is currently concentrated in Anápolis, where, alongside the Chery line, the Hyundai IX35 and New Tucson models are assembled, as well as the light trucks HR and HD 80, with FPT engines already prepared to meet Euro 6 standards.
The Chery Arrizo 6 Pro and iCar, the most affordable electric car in Brazil, are imported fully from China. As for Subaru, the vehicles arrive ready from Japan and undergo production for commercialization from a dry port in a bonded area in Anápolis, Goiás.
The manufacturer Caoa also plans to continue its intensive product marketing strategy through electronic and print media and has grand plans to remain prominent in consumer satisfaction rankings, where it has consistently ranked at the top.
After Layoffs, Manufacturer Caoa Promises to Reopen Jacareí Factory in São Paulo
The manufacturer Caoa has begun the process of electrifying its vehicles in the Brazilian market and currently utilizes only the production unit in Anápolis, Goiás, for its vehicle production.
Therefore, Caoa has promised to resume the production of its hybrid cars at the Jacareí production unit in the interior of São Paulo, where the manufacturing of vehicles like the Tiggo 3x and Arrizo 6 has been halted.
Mauro Correia, president of CAOA, in an interview with Automotive Business, promised that the production of vehicles will be resumed in the Vale do Paraíba, but this will only occur after the modernization of the unit for electrification.
According to Correia, the Anápolis factory was restructured between 2017 and 2018 for electrification; however, the Caoa business emerged, and the company decided to invest in the production of electrified vehicles in Goiás.
The CAOA president also stated that after modernization, a new line of hybrid vehicles will reach the Brazilian market, but currently, he does not comment on future Caoa cars.
