Bribery Request Was Made by Lobbyist Pastor Arilton Moura Who Justified by Saying That the Money Would Be Used for “Support of the Missionary Works Developed by His Church”.
The story linked to Milton Ribeiro, former Minister of Education, has continued. Until then, the corruption scheme of the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture) was structured only by a parallel office of pastors, but the issue goes much further when it is found that the money involved also resulted from Petrobras through agreements made during Operation Car Wash.
The National Fund for Educational Development (FNDE) was the main means for applying the money that, decreed by Alexandre Moraes, Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), was withdrawn from the agreements of Operation Car Wash.
The source of this information comes from an article by journalist Guilherme Amado for Metrópoles. He claims that “(the) money recovered from the corruption of Petrobras in the previous administration ended up in the current administration’s corruption scheme.”

Recall the Investigation Involving Corruption Scheme in MEC
The Federal Police initiated an investigation in recent months with evidence of a criminal organization infiltrated in the Ministry of Education committing crimes in the administrative sector. The alleged faction is composed of Milton Ribeiro, former Minister of Education, lobbyist pastors, and their respective families, as it was through them that the bank transactions were carried out.
The bribery request was made by lobbyist pastor Arilton Moura who justified by saying that the money would be used for “support of the missionary works developed by his church.”
He was arrested on June 22, along with Pastor Gilmar Santos, lawyer Luciano de Freitas Musse, and former assistant of the Goiânia City Hall Helder Bartolomeu, in addition to Milton Ribeiro.
According to the Federal Court of the Federal District, after the arrest decree, Judge Renato Borelli began receiving numerous threats from Ribeiro’s supporters. The solution was to issue a protection order for the magistrate so that he could continue performing his duties as a judge and his activities as an ordinary citizen.
