With the month of January, the new year generally leaves drivers anxious due to the need to pay the Vehicle Property Tax (IPVA). However, in some states of Brazil, cars from Toyota, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Ford that are 20 years old become exempt from the fee. In this article, we will list cars without IPVA starting in 2025. By doing the math, starting next year, models manufactured until 2005 will lose the need to contribute to the fee, being required to pay only for licensing. Therefore, we have separated about 05 cars from Toyota, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Ford sold in Brazil that will no longer be subject to the annual IPVA contribution starting next year.
VW CrossFox

Still speaking of the last decade, a segment that had not yet been swallowed by SUVs was that of minivans.

This is the “new” Toyota SW4, the SUV version of the midsize pickup, which had left the Brazilian market in 2002, returning three years later with a new generation. Equally robust as the pickup, it has a more urban and luxurious appeal while maintaining the same mechanical reliability as always.
How Does The Exemption For Cars Without IPVA Work?
The payment of IPVA depends on the manufacture date of the cars. This means that automobiles that rolled off the production line years ago are completely exempt from paying this debt. However, the age of exempt cars from Toyota, Fiat, Volkswagen, and Ford varies by Brazilian state.
The majority of states offer IPVA exemption for cars older than 15 years. In addition to the Federal District, those that meet this requirement are Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Maranhão, Pará, Paraíba, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rondônia, and Sergipe.
In the state of Mato Grosso, the production date for cars without IPVA is a bit higher, starting at 18 years. On the other hand, owners of cars in Acre, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo stop contributing to the tax when the car turns 20 years old.
