Aracruz And Cachoeiro de Itapemirim Will Receive Investments of R$ 935 Million, Creating Jobs for Works That May Last Up to 3 Years in Espírito Santo at Suzano Forest, Pulp and Paper
Last Thursday (19), it was announced by Suzano that the Pulp and Paper subsidiary will heavily invest in Espírito Santo, specifically R$ 935 million for the construction and expansion of services in Aracruz and Cachoeiro de Itapemirim. This funding will generate thousands of jobs and comes from ICSM credits that the company holds with the Federal Government.
The Application of These Investments in 3 Fronts
- Modernize an existing unit of the company in the city of Aracruz
- Amplification of Suzano’s forestry hub
- In Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, a toilet paper factory is expected to be constructed
According to Suzano Pulp and Paper, the Aracruz unit that will be modernized will receive R$ 257 million of these investments, and Pablo Machado, who is the current Executive Director, endorses that the company’s forestry unit will also be expanded, with a reserve of investments amounting to R$ 530 million. Following the same path, R$ 130 million have been earmarked for the construction of a toilet paper factory in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim: “These investments are expected to generate around 900 jobs. We will always prioritize local job creation. So, whether for the toilet paper factory, for the modernization works of the factory, or for the expansion of the forestry base, in these three projects we will seek local people, as much as possible,” concludes Machado.

The governor of the state of Espírito Santo stated: “It’s R$ 935 million in the coming years, starting in 2020. These are investments that will generate ICMS for the state, in addition to creating jobs and economic activity to generate income for the capixabas, in an activity that is already structured in Espírito Santo, which is the use of wood for cellulose production. And now we take a step further, with a toilet paper factory. This promotes a balance in the state, with investments in the northern and southern regions,” he concludes, highlighting how important these investments are.
