Yesterday, during Rio Oil & Gas, Equinor’s president, Andres Opedal, stated that the company will continue to focus on oil and gas assets, but also has an interest in expanding renewables, as the multinational aims to zero out its pollutant emissions.

The multinational is one of the largest companies in the sector and is increasingly seeking to diversify its portfolio. The CEO also claims that one of Equinor’s major goals is to become one of the leaders in the energy transition. Andres Opedal stated that it is still too early to guarantee progress in the search for renewable energy project plans. The type of project is still under study.
