The New Crossover Will Be Exclusive to China and Features Elements Inspired by Recent Launches
The new generation of the Ford Edge has finally been officially launched after appearing in spy shots, teasers, and leaked registration images. This time, the crossover will be exclusive to China and has the surname L to highlight its superior size, in addition to featuring a design based on the brand’s latest aesthetic philosophy.
Inside, the first thing that catches everyone’s attention is the enormous multimedia center, which occupies almost the entire dashboard of the car. According to Motor 1, the Edge L 2024 adopts elements inspired by recent launches, such as the Evos crossover and the new generation of the Mondeo.
At the front of the vehicle, the wide grille is highlighted alongside narrow headlights that are well-integrated into the design. The sides feature large windows, a tall roof, and a stylized C-pillar. Meanwhile, at the rear, the taillights are interconnected, and the Edge branding stands out in the center.

The Ford Edge L Comes With New Technologies and Can Accommodate Up to 7 Passengers
Inside the Ford Edge L, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a massive 27-inch touchscreen positioned horizontally, spanning the entire width of the dashboard. The huge multimedia screen is becoming Ford’s signature in China, having already been featured in the Evos and Explorer models in the country.
In addition, the crossover comes equipped with ambient lighting, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a panoramic sunroof, reclining lounge-type seats in the second row, up to 20 advanced driver assistance systems, among other surprising technologies. This vehicle can accommodate up to 7 passengers.
Range of Almost 1,200 Km in the Electrified Version of the Crossover
The Ford Edge L features a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with 252 hp and 38.5 kgfm of torque. The American automaker states that it will also offer a hybrid version in June, with 275 hp and 41.2 kgfm of torque. The transmission for both versions is an 8-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive. In the electrified model, the range is 1,188 kilometers.
When it comes to size, the giant measures 5 meters in length, 1.961 m in width, 1.773 m in height, and has a 2.95 m wheelbase. So far, Ford has shown no interest in bringing the model to other markets, as was the case with the Evos crossover, for example. Therefore, the Edge will likely have a commercial focus concentrated in China.
