Compagas (Paraná Gas Company) increased its gas distribution by 30% in 2019. The average total gas volume distributed in the state of Paraná was 1.4 million m³ per day. The company is experiencing a good moment, evidenced by a 5.7% growth for the year, making it the best performance in the country.

The company’s CEO stated that “Piped natural gas, a highly important input for the sector, has seen a considerable rise driven by this movement. The credit goes to the measures being taken by the Paraná Government to improve the economy and infrastructure of the State.”

In the year 2000, the company became the first distributor of piped natural gas in the South of the country, with the inauguration of the southern branch of Gasbol (Bolivia-Brazil Gas Pipeline).
In 2019, out of the total volume distributed by the company, 85% was allocated to industry. Regarding residential consumers, the company connected over 3,300 new customers last year.
According to Lamastra, “We grew 8% in the number of customers and reached over 47,000 units in the residential, commercial, vehicular, and industrial segments, where we want to generate greater productivity in 2020.” Compagas also invested R$ 14 million in expansion and network integrity works.
For the year 2020, according to the president, the goal is to optimize the investments already made and invest in studies for the expansion and increased participation of natural gas in the energy matrix of the state of Paraná.
