The announcement of the victory of the port logistics company was made last Tuesday, after the company Power Log, the second place in the bidding, officially expressed its lack of interest in covering the proposal of the first place.
CTIL Logística submitted a proposal of R$ 48.60 per square meter in the selection process for the lease of Operation Area A, totaling R$ 4,006,896.01 for the provisional acquisition of the area. Soon after, Power Log offered R$ 46.50 per square meter, totaling R$ 3,833,758.53, while the third place, Container’s Service, made a proposal of R$ 26.00 per square meter, totaling R$ 2,147,606.92.
Now that CTIL Logística has successfully won the initial selection process for the temporary lease, it will have a total of five days to submit all necessary documentation and other requirements for its qualification in the process.
Once this is done, the Port of Itajaí will conduct its analysis and the final proposal of the company, thereby sending the temporary leasing process to the National Agency of Waterway Transportation (Antaq). Antaq will then have a total of 30 days to evaluate the lease of Operation Area A.
Temporary Lease of Operation Area A at the Port Complex Was Necessary After APM Terminals Ceased Its Operations
The selection process for conducting a temporary lease for Operation Area A of the Port of Itajaí is an obligation of the municipal government of Itajaí, in Santa Catarina. This is because APM Terminals had confirmed that it would not continue its investments and administration in the area of the complex, thus necessitating a new company to carry out these activities.
The final contract for the lease of Operation Area A in the Santa Catarina complex will have a total validity period of six months, extendable for up to two years, starting from January 2023, stipulated in the extension of the port authority to the municipality of Itajaí.
However, it may also be terminated if the Federal Government completes its bidding process for the complete privatization of the Port of Itajaí.
Now, CTIL Logística must forward all necessary documentation to the Port of Itajaí and await the next steps in the selection process to finalize its temporary lease in the coming months, thus advancing in investments aimed at the Santa Catarina complex.
