Brazil Should Reach 100 Thousand Electric Vehicles In Circulation This Year
Economic and efficient. The demand for electric vehicles has been growing worldwide, and Brazil is no different. A survey conducted in 2021 by McKinsey & Company, a global strategic consulting firm, recorded that 48% of Brazilians intend to acquire the technological trend, while 10% guarantee they will make the purchase. The data is confirmed by the increase in automobiles on the streets, which will certainly benefit the construction industry. The Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE) forecasts that the country should reach 100 thousand of them in circulation this year. In February, the records already marked 79.8 thousand, compared to 35 thousand at the end of last year.
The high demand suggests the adaptation to this new market. In Itapema (SC), Gessele Empreendimentos, a construction company that develops luxurious properties inspired by European royalty, will already include the infrastructure for electric vehicles in its recent launches. “We hear and see more about new technologies, and those who become complacent risk being left behind. At Gessele Empreendimentos, we are always reinventing ourselves to include all the news that can provide more comfort to our clients and investors,” says Ivan Oliveira, civil engineer of the company.
The newly launched Francisco I and George VI, which harmonize the classic European design with the modernity of the 21st century, already feature this novelty. “The difference is that each resident will receive the structure ready to only adapt to their car model. Thus, they will have the convenience of charging their vehicle without leaving home,” adds the engineer. Initially, all future launches from the company should include the structure.

Sales boom: Automotive sector enters an accelerated pace in 2026 after new car sales reached the best result since 2013 and boosted automakers in Brazil.
Even though the purchase price is higher compared to conventional cars, electric vehicles are considered the future of the sector, as there is no need for fuels and they have lower maintenance costs, generating savings over the years. Additionally, they are more powerful and less polluting to the environment, including hybrid models, which come with both electric and traditional engines.
