The Red Cross will receive prepaid cards for one month to fuel all vehicles indicated by the institution.
The amount will allow refueling at registered BR Distribuidora stations across the country for a period of one month.
The president of the Brazilian Red Cross, Julio Cals, said that the “We Are Ready” campaign aims to assist people who are in vulnerable situations throughout Brazil and that the donation from BR Distribuidora comes at the right moment.
According to the Communications Manager of BR Distribuidora, Luiz Phelipe, the cards have already been delivered to the Red Cross.
Luiz Phelipe emphasized that, in addition to supporting the Brazilian Red Cross, BR Distribuidora donated aviation kerosene to the Air Force to refuel the aircraft that went to China to fetch equipment for combating the coronavirus.
He also stated that the company has made fuel donations to Non-Governmental Organizations that are conducting solidarity actions with food distribution for those most in need in various parts of the country. According to Phelipe, all BR’s social actions total about R$ 45 million.
This donation is part of a set of initiatives that BR Distribuidora has been implementing based on the principles of awareness, responsibility, and solidarity that have guided the company’s actions during this difficult time for Brazil and the world.
