Fiat Strada leads sales in June 2026, while Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Creta, HB20, T-Cross, and Tera compete for top positions.
The Brazilian automotive market started June 2026 at a fast pace. According to a report by Car.Blog, published on June 5th, with data from Fenabrave consolidated until the close of June 4th, the Fiat Strada led the overall registration ranking for the month, with 1,888 units, followed by Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai HB20, Hyundai Creta, and Volkswagen T-Cross.
The snapshot is still partial and does not represent the final result for June, but it already shows an intense competition among pickups, hatchbacks, and SUVs in the first business days of the month. In the same survey, the Volkswagen Tera appeared among the ten best-selling vehicles in the overall ranking, with 901 units registered, while the annual accumulations mentioned in the table refer to the YTD 2026 reported in the update on June 5th, based on data consolidated until the 4th.
Fiat Strada maintains national leadership and continues dominating the Brazilian market
The Fiat Strada started June as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil. According to partial data from Fenabrave, the pickup accumulated 1,888 units registered by the close of the 4th, maintaining a comfortable lead over direct competitors.

In the 2026 cumulative, the Strada had already surpassed 70 thousand units sold, consolidating its position as the most popular vehicle in the country.

The success of the pickup is no surprise. The combination of competitive price, low operational cost, versatility for work and family use continues to attract consumers in virtually all regions of Brazil.
The leadership of the Strada also reinforces the strength of the light commercial vehicle segment, which remains extremely relevant in the national market.
Volkswagen Polo remains the main rival among passenger cars
If the Strada dominates among light commercials, the Volkswagen Polo continues to be the main force among automobiles. The hatch appeared with 1,335 units registered in the June partial, maintaining its position as the best-selling passenger car in the country.
In the accumulated year, the model had already surpassed 44 thousand units sold, remaining among the absolute leaders of the national market.

The Polo has been benefiting from Volkswagen’s aggressive strategy in recent years. In addition to versions aimed at entry-level consumers, the model also caters to those looking for more equipment and performance, significantly expanding its buyer base.
Hyundai surprises and places HB20 and Creta among the top four
One of the biggest surprises of this first partial is Hyundai’s strength. The HB20 appears in third overall position with 1,270 units, while the Creta occupies fourth place with 1,196 registrations. Both show superior performance compared to various moments in 2025.
The case of the Creta is particularly noteworthy because the SUV recorded growth of over 30% compared to the same period the previous month.
This demonstrates that the model remains extremely competitive in one of the most contested segments of the Brazilian automotive industry.
Volkswagen T-Cross and Tera show the brand’s strength among SUVs
Volkswagen also dominates a good part of the ranking. In addition to the Polo, the manufacturer placed the T-Cross in fifth overall position, with 986 units, and the new Tera in eighth place, with 901 registrations. The T-Cross is already a well-established name among compact SUVs.
The Tera represents one of the brand’s biggest recent bets in the Brazilian market. Even at the beginning of its commercial journey, the model already appears among the best-selling vehicles in the country, indicating strong public acceptance.
BYD expands presence and places two models among the top ten best-sellers
Another important highlight of the partial is the growing presence of BYD.
The Dolphin Mini appears in sixth overall position with 931 units, while the Song occupies seventh place with 919 vehicles sold.
The performance shows how electrified vehicles are gaining ground in the Brazilian market.
A few years ago it would have been difficult to imagine two models from a Chinese manufacturer among the ten best-selling cars in the country. Today, BYD is already directly competing with traditional brands and expanding its participation month after month.
Chevrolet Onix tries to regain space in an increasingly competitive market
The Chevrolet Onix appears in ninth position in the June partial with 888 units registered.
Although it is far from the volumes recorded in its most successful years, the hatch continues to be among the main vehicles sold in Brazil.
The market, however, has changed significantly.
The arrival of new SUVs, the growth of electrified vehicles, and the expansion of Chinese brands have increased competition and made the race for the top positions much more intense than a few years ago.
Ranking of the 10 best-selling cars in Brazil in June 2026 in the table below (up to the present moment)
| Position | Model | Registrations |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Fiat Strada | 1,888 |
| 2 | Volkswagen Polo | 1,335 |
| 3 | Hyundai HB20 | 1,270 |
| 4 | Hyundai Creta | 1,196 |
| 5 | Volkswagen T-Cross | 986 |
| 6 | BYD Dolphin Mini | 931 |
| 7 | BYD Song | 919 |
| 8 | Volkswagen Tera | 901 |
| 9 | Chevrolet Onix | 888 |
| 10 | Hyundai HB20S | 863 |
SUVs are increasingly gaining space in the taste of Brazilian consumers
The composition of the ranking shows a clear trend. SUVs like Creta, T-Cross, Song, Tera, Tracker, HR-V, Yaris Cross, and Corolla Cross are appearing in increasingly relevant positions. This confirms the transformation of the Brazilian market observed in recent years.
While hatchbacks remain important, especially Polo, HB20, and Onix, consumers are showing a growing preference for vehicles with a higher driving position, more interior space, and a more robust appearance.
The beginning of June indicates a competition that should remain fierce until the end of the month
Despite the leadership of the Fiat Strada, the difference between various models in the ranking is still relatively small.
With more than three weeks of sales ahead, the scenario can change significantly until the end of June. Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai HB20, Creta, T-Cross, Tera, and BYD models remain close enough to change positions throughout the month.
What already seems clear is that 2026 continues to consolidate some important trends: the strength of the Fiat Strada, the recovery of Hyundai, the expansion of SUVs, the advancement of Chinese brands, and the growing presence of electrified vehicles among the best-selling cars in Brazil.
Which of these models do you believe will finish June in the lead among passenger cars: Polo, HB20, or Creta?
