The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP) has published Edital No. 95/2024, which opens the selection process for the free specialization in geography education course. This course is an excellent opportunity for professional training for those who wish to enhance their teaching and educational management skills, offering 30 spots for enrollment in the first semester of 2025.

The course aims to promote the continuing education of geography teachers, as well as other licensed professionals and graduates in related fields, contributing to the improvement of professionals working in basic education. The specialization will be offered in aface-to-face format, with classes held in the evening onTuesdays and Thursdays, at theSão Paulo Campus, located in the Canindé neighborhood. The free course has atotal workload of 370.5 hours, distributed over18 months, and does not require the completion of a Final Paper (TCC). Activities will consist of lectures, seminars, debates, and periodic assessments.

Available Spots and Locations

The Federal Institute IFSP offers 30 spots for the course, distributed as follows: 21 spots for open competition and the others for affirmative actions. These actions include 6 spots reserved for black (black and brown) or indigenous candidates, 2 spots forpersons with disabilities (PCD), and 1 spot designated forquilombola candidates, according to the quota policy of the IFSP. All spots are for theSão Paulo Campus in the face-to-face course.

Selection Processes for the Federal Institute

The selection process will be conducted in two stages. The first stage consists of awritten exam, which includes multiple-choice questions and one essay question, with a total value of80 points. The second stage is theevaluation of a letter of intent, which counts for up to20 points.

To participate in the spots reserved for affirmative actions, candidates must submit the required documentation, such as ethnic-racial self-declaration and medical reports when applicable. IFSP ensures that the affirmative actions will follow legal criteria, and remaining spots will be allocated to open competition.

Enrollment Requirements

Interested candidates must hold afree degree in Geography or in other related fields. To enroll, it is necessary to have avalid ID and CPF, and candidates must be able to attend classes in aface-to-face format. Those registered for affirmative actions must present the respective proofs during the enrollment process.
