The Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), Araraquara Campus, published Public Notice No. 3/2024 for the selection process of the free postgraduate course lato sensu in Specialization in Interdisciplinary Teaching of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. With 30 available spots, the course offers a unique opportunity for professional development for basic education teachers, integrating continued education and training in interdisciplinary methodology.

Course Objective and Workload

The main objective of the free course is to enhance the scientific and practical knowledge of teachers in the areas of Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) and Mathematics, promoting an interdisciplinary approach in teaching-learning. The total workload is 360 hours, distributed in face-to-face classes held at night at Araraquara Campus. During the course, students will participate in seminars, readings, and discussions aimed at solving practical educational problems.

The free course has 30 spots available, distributed between open competition and affirmative actions. Classes will be held at the Federal Institute-Araraquara Campus, located at Rua Doutor Aldo Benedito Pierri, No. 250, Jardim Paulo Freire, Araraquara/SP. Selection Process

The selection process is classificatory and consists of two stages: analysis of qualifications and years of teaching experience. Degrees in education and years of experience in basic education will be scored, with bonuses for those teaching in public networks. The Federal Institute’s public notice also provides for reserved spots for self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola candidates, and persons with disabilities.

Application Requirements

To apply, candidates must have a graduate degree in Pedagogy, Biological Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics, or prove teaching experience in one of these areas. Required documents include ID, CPF, diploma or certificate of completion of higher education, and proof of professional experience.
