Honda's new sedan revolutionizes the automotive market in India: Honda Amaze arrives as an affordable option, costing less than R$ 60 thousand and impressing with outstanding performance and features!

In the Indian market, there is a segment of sedans below the compacts we have here. Thus, in addition to the City, there is also the Honda Amaze, a cheap car from Honda that is arriving in its third generation in the automotive industry to compete with models such as the Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. Check out the main details about the Honda sedan.

Honda's car design in India sparks controversy

While the Honda Amaze still follows the fundamentals of the previous generation to the letter, the third-generation Amaze gets a new look both externally and internally, to remain relevant within the Indian automobile industry.

The style, however, may be a bit controversial for Brazilians. It is clear that it uses elements from City and SUV Elevate (which will be sold in Brazil as the WR-V), however, it seems that the brand ended up developing a clone very similar to the Fiat Fastback, a coincidence, since Fiat's SUV coupe is not sold there.

However, this is only a matter for Brazilians, because what really caused controversy in the design of Honda's cheap car was the difference between the concept and the production version in the Indian automobile industry. The initial images showed a much bolder look, with larger taillights and headlights, as well as a lower profile more in keeping with a sedan.

However, what we see is a front end very similar to that of the Elevate, an SUV that is also based on the City, and a taller car, almost a crossover or coupe SUV.

Because of this, some proportions may even seem a bit strange in the Honda car, something that was toned down in the pre-production design, but is common to the second generation model. The 15-inch wheels, for example, seem too small for the car.

The interior of the new Honda Amaze is highlighted

Inside, the redesign of Honda's car in the Indian automotive industry is quite significant compared to the second generation, but it is not unprecedented. The entire set is identical to that of the Elevate, including the 7-inch digital instrument panel, the steering wheel and the entire dashboard and center console. The only exception is the multimedia center, which in the Honda sedan has an 8-inch screen, instead of 10,25 inches in the SUV.

Despite being less than 4 m long, the trunk space of Honda's cheap car is good. The Honda Amaze has 416 liters of trunk space, 4 L less than the second generation. The length of less than 4 m is essential to ensure that you will pay less taxes.

Honda sedan delivers up to 90 hp of power

There have been no significant changes to the engine. The Honda car is still equipped with the same 1.2-liter gasoline engine with 90 hp and 11,21 kgfm, which can be coupled with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox, but this is only for the top of the line.

There is no option for CNG, a type of fuel that is well-accepted in India and is available from competitors. The platform is the same as before, and is also shared with the City and Elevate. Speaking of which, the most expensive model will be called the ZX and will be the only one with the Honda Sensing package available.

With it, the Honda sedan gains several driving assistance features, such as autonomous braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistant, making the sedan the most affordable car with ADAS features. It is worth mentioning that Honda's cheap car has starting prices of R$56.752.
