Used automatic models gain ground among drivers seeking comfort in traffic, but prices, versions, and equipment vary according to year, condition, and region, requiring attention before purchase to avoid differences between advertised values and current market references.

The demand for more affordable automatic cars has grown in the used and semi-new market, in a scenario where drivers facing urban traffic seek to reduce the effort of driving without migrating to higher-priced brand-new models.

Among compact sedans and hatches with good internal space utilization, Toyota Yaris Sedan, Hyundai HB20S, Nissan Versa, and Honda Fit appear in market searches as options with automatic transmission, safety features, and a trunk suitable for family use.

The range of R$ 65 thousand requires careful verification, because not all the mentioned versions remain at this level in current market references, especially when considering model year, condition, mileage, and equipment package.

In the case of the Honda Fit EXL 2015 CVT, values close to this level can still be found in reference searches, while more recent automatic Yaris, HB20S, and Versa usually appear above this mark in specialized tables and platforms.

Used automatic car requires attention to version and year

The interest in these models is linked to the combination of automatic transmission, safety equipment, and convenience items used daily, such as stability and traction controls, side and curtain airbags, multimedia center, and electronic assistance.

Even so, the advertised value of a semi-new automatic can reflect significant differences in version, as cars from the same line vary in the number of airbags, the offer of onboard technology, and the presence of features like keyless entry.

For urban use, equipment such as electric steering, rearview camera, smooth-operating transmission, and automatic air conditioning tend to weigh in the comparison, while families tend to observe trunk space, interior space, and vehicle maintenance history.

This analysis also helps to avoid inaccurate comparisons between versions of different years, as the same model may have received changes in safety, connectivity, and finish throughout its trajectory in the Brazilian market.

Toyota Yaris Sedan combines CVT, seven airbags, and spacious trunk

The Toyota Yaris Sedan appears among the automatic options analyzed for combining a 1.5 flex engine, CVT transmission, and a design geared towards everyday use, with compact sedan dimensions and an equipment package that varies according to year and version.

In the technical specifications, the Yaris Sedan reports a 1.5 flex engine with up to 110 hp, a wheelbase of 2.55 meters, and a trunk capacity of 473 liters, which meets the needs of drivers who need to transport luggage, shopping, or family-use items.

Among the available equipment, the model can include air conditioning, electric steering, multimedia center, multifunction steering wheel, onboard computer, electric windows and locks, stability and traction controls, hill-start assist, and an expanded set of airbags.

However, checking the price requires attention to the model year used as a reference, since the Yaris Sedan XL Plus Connect 2022 appears above R$ 83,000 in consulted market bases, a value far from the R$ 65,900 mentioned for automatics.

Hyundai HB20S turbo delivers 120 hp and six-speed automatic transmission

In the Hyundai HB20S 1.0 TGDI automatic, the technical highlight is the turbo flex engine with up to 120 hp and 17.5 kgfm of torque, associated with a six-speed automatic transmission in configurations that use this engine.

With a wheelbase of 2.53 meters and a trunk of 475 liters, the compact sedan offers suitable dimensions for those seeking an urban vehicle with space for luggage and family use, without moving into a larger category.

Depending on the version, the HB20S can feature a multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital air conditioning, electric steering, keyless entry with push-button start, rearview camera, stability and traction controls, and hill-start assist.

The price also changes significantly depending on the year and configuration, as the HB20S 1.0 TGDI Vision automatic 2022 appears with a reference above R$ 71,000, while newer or more equipped versions can exceed R$ 80,000.

Nissan Versa offers the largest trunk among sedans

The Nissan Versa enters the comparison for the available space, especially for buyers looking for an automatic sedan with a larger trunk, a cabin aimed at family use, and a CVT transmission in versions equipped with the Xtronic transmission.

In configurations with a 1.6 flex engine and Xtronic CVT transmission, the Versa delivers up to 114 hp and 15.5 kgfm of torque, a set aimed at urban and highway driving within the proposal of compact sedans.

The current version of the Versa reports 482 liters of trunk space in certain configurations, in addition to features like six airbags, stability control, traction control, frontal collision alert, and intelligent braking assistant in more complete versions.

The price of R$ 74,9 thousand depends on the model year and version taken as a reference, as brand-new units and recent examples with CVT transmission appear in higher ranges in available market consultations.

Honda Fit EXL remains associated with modular interior space

Among the mentioned hatches, the Honda Fit EXL 1.5 CVT stands out for its internal use and modular seat system, a feature that expands the possibilities of accommodating objects without relying on a sedan’s trunk.

The 1.5 flex engine delivers up to 116 hp and 15.3 kgfm of torque, while the CVT transmission prioritizes driving without perceptible gear changes, something sought by drivers who spend long periods in urban traffic.

The trunk space reported for the latest generation Fit EXL is 363 liters, but folding the seats allows for transporting tall or long volumes, depending on the position chosen for the rear seats.

In the EXL versions, the package may include leather seats, multimedia center, rearview camera, digital air conditioning, keyless entry with push-button start, cruise control, stability and traction controls, multifunction steering wheel, alloy wheels, and front, side, and curtain airbags.

In terms of price comparison, the Fit is the model that comes closest to the R$ 65,000 range when considering an older unit, such as the 2015 EXL 1.5 automatic, while 2018 models approach R$ 80,000.

Low price depends more on the year than on the model

The comparison indicates that the automatic transmission is present in used models of different ranges, but the R$ 65,000 mark does not apply uniformly to Yaris Sedan, HB20S, Versa, and Fit in the mentioned versions.

In general, lower values appear in older units, with higher mileage or less complete equipment packages, while recent models, with documented maintenance history and a greater offer of safety items, tend to cost more.

Before purchasing, the inspection should include a precautionary report, revision history, condition of the transmission, functioning of electronic equipment, debt consultation, and comparison with the Fipe Table, because conservation and location influence the final price.
