The Asian automotive market is known for its creativity in naming new electric car models, and the latest example is the Bingo, a popular electric car produced by the Chinese company Wuling, a partner of Chevrolet in China. The Bingo, now in its 2024 lineup, promises to be a cost-effective and efficient option, potentially becoming a strong competitor to the BYD Dolphin Mini, were it to be sold in Brazil, according to the website Web Motors.

Features and Performance

The Wuling Bingo is a four-door popular electric car, certified to carry up to four occupants. Its design is modern and appealing, with rounded lines that give it a pleasant look. The vehicle’s dimensions are 3.95 meters in length, 1.70 meters in width, and 1.58 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.56 meters. Compared to the BYD Dolphin Mini, the electric car Bingo is 17 cm longer, but the other measurements are quite similar.

Motor and Range of the Electric Car

Equipped with an electric motor that delivers 67 horsepower, the popular electric car Bingo can reach a top speed of 130 km/h, an increase of 10 km/h over the previous version and equal to the maximum speed of the Dolphin Mini. The vehicle’s range varies according to the battery version: the models with larger batteries can travel up to 410 kilometers on a single charge, according to the Chinese measurement cycle. In contrast, the base version offers a range of 203 kilometers and has a maximum speed limited to 100 km/h.

Technology and Comfort

The interior of the Bingo is equipped with cutting-edge technology. The instrument panel and multimedia center are integrated into a single piece with 10.25-inch screens. The two-spoke steering wheel has multifunction controls, and the air conditioning is automatic, ensuring comfort for the occupants. The interior finish is sophisticated, with a dashboard and seats covered in leather.

Price and Competitiveness

In China, the Bingo is sold starting at 56,800 yuan, which is approximately R$ 41,000 in direct conversion. However, when considering import costs and taxes in Brazil, the price could reach around R$ 85,000. Even so, this price would be extremely competitive for the Brazilian entry-level electric vehicle market, positioning the Bingo as a strong competitor to the Renault Kwid E-Tech and the BYD Dolphin Mini itself.

With an affordable price and attractive specifications, the Wuling Bingo has the potential to capture the young audience, especially those looking for an efficient electric vehicle with good cost-benefit. Unlike a game of bingo, where luck determines the winners, the Wuling Bingo could ensure its success in the market through the combination of price, technology, and performance.

Seria interessante para o Brasil, bonito e para um carro urbano seria mas uma opção, além de aumentar o portifólio da GM no país.
