Adecoagro Is Keeping an Eye on the Growth of the Ethanol Market and Therefore Plans to Invest Half a Million Reais in the Implementation of an Ethanol Pipeline in Monte Belo (MG). In Addition, the Company Is Also Investing in Biogas in the Brazilian Market
Almost two months after submitting a request to the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Adecoagro received the entity’s approval to proceed with the construction of an ethanol pipeline in MG. The mission is to connect the company’s plant, located in Monte Belo (MG), to the distribution base located in the same municipality, covering a total distance of 200 meters. However, the construction of the ethanol pipeline in MG still needs to wait. According to a dispatch from the ANP published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), interested parties have until the 24th of next month to analyze the project and submit comments to the entity, which will consider the contributions before authorizing the construction of the ethanol pipeline. The ANP also emphasizes that it is still reviewing the documentation submitted by Adecoagro.

Adecoagro Advances in Biogas Production
Vinasse, a waste product from the production of ethanol from sugarcane, is already used in the fertilizer sector, but there are still few cases where it is used for generating biogas for energy production or in biogas for vehicles.
However, in September, Adecoagro began injecting biogas produced in its biogas plant into some vehicles. The company is already exploring new steps such as expanding capacity and producing green hydrogen through biogas.
The biogas unit is located next to the Ivinhema plant in MS. The units are capable of producing about 660 million liters of ethanol and grinding 13 million tons of sugarcane per harvest.
