Do You Remember When DJI Was Synonymous with Expensive Drones That Delighted Drone Enthusiasts? Times Have Changed, and DJI Has Decided to Venture into New Territories.
After launching handheld cameras, stabilization systems, and even wireless microphones, DJI has now jumped into the world of electric bicycles with the Amflow PL and the innovative DJI Avinox Drive System.
DJI, famous for its drones and advanced technologies, decided to leverage all its expertise in batteries and motors to create a top-of-the-line electric bicycle. The Amflow PL promises to be the new favorite among tech-savvy cyclists. Although the launch was discreet, without videos on DJI’s official channel, several cycling channels have already received the news to test.
A Revolutionary Kit from DJI for Electric Bicycles
The DJI Avinox Drive System is a kit for electric bicycles that promises to revolutionize the market. With a peak power of 850W and weighing only 2.5kg, it impresses with its efficiency. For those not familiar with these specifications, most electric bicycle kits out there average about 350W and weigh significantly more.

China tows a 24,100-ton floating “wind island” out to sea, secures the structure with 9 giant anchors, and erects a 270-meter turbine to withstand 20-meter waves 70 km off the coast.

China launched new satellites to test technology that can bring internet directly to mobile phones, without a tower in the way: the Long March-2D rocket took off from Xichang, in Sichuan, with the mission to validate satellite-to-phone broadband.

China has set up a serial production line for rockets: the new factory in Shaoxing will deliver up to 12 units of the Lijian-2 per year and marks the shift of the Chinese space sector from tests to industrial-scale production.

NASA already knows where it will sink the International Space Station: a place so isolated that the closest humans might be in orbit.
And it doesn’t stop there! DJI not only created the kit, but also launched the brand Amflow, dedicated to electric bicycles that utilize its system. The complete bike, Amflow PL, is a technological marvel. The battery options are another spectacle: one with 600Wh, weighing 2.87kg and with a range of up to 117km, and another with 800Wh, weighing 3.75kg and with a range of up to 157km. Of course, these numbers are for ideal conditions: flat road, light cyclist, eco mode… in real life, the range can be much lower.
Technology and Connectivity

The innovation from DJI is in the details. The system communicates via Bluetooth, eliminating the need for cables between the motor, controller, and display, which reduces weight and makes life easier for cyclists. Additionally, the bike has a 2-inch touchscreen display with a brightness of 800 nits, perfect for keeping track of all data in real time.
Another interesting feature is the walking assist, great for when you need to push the bike, and the parking lock that eliminates the need for the traditional brick behind the wheel. The Amflow PL also comes with hill assist, quick gear shifts, and compatibility with an app that notifies you if someone is tampering with your bike.
A New Horizon for DJI

Of course, being DJI, the price is not likely to be the most affordable, but the quality of the products justifies the investment. The electric bicycle is set to be launched between July and September of this year, and I’ll bring the prices here. For those who enjoy cutting-edge technology and don’t mind paying a little more for innovation, the Amflow PL with the DJI Avinox Drive System is a great option. So, what do you think of this new venture by DJI into the electric bicycle market?
This has been our chat today about DJI’s new electric bicycle. Would we have preferred a new drone? Maybe. But it’s nice to see the company expanding and bringing innovations to other sectors. Until next time, folks!
