Drugstore Invests in Clean Energy and Promises to Reduce Electricity Costs by Up to 20%

With the rising global awareness for clean and environmentally friendly energy, companies like Drogaria Venancio are heavily investing in clean energy. The company invested in clean energy generation, inaugurating its first solar power plant in March, located in Barra do Piraí.

Investment in clean energy generation is well regarded for several reasons. One of them is environmental preservation, while also saving about 20% of energy in its physical stores. Additionally, the solar plant project came at a time of high prices in solar energy, further increasing savings.

Initially, Drogaria Venâncio’s solar plant will meet the needs of 50 of the company’s stores. The environmental NGO SOS Mata Atlântica highlights that the amount of CO2 that will not be emitted is equivalent to planting 22 thousand trees after one year. The project was designed by the company América, in partnership with Gera Energia. The project included the installation of 11,040 modules of 335 W.

Drogaria Venancio Aims to Be More Sustainable

Armando Arhmed, president of Drogaria Venancio, spoke a bit more about the project: “We are always looking for ways to become increasingly sustainable and this new project means a lot to us. We will be able to reduce costs while contributing to the production of clean energy. Being more environmentally conscious is part of our purpose,” he said.

The success of the project has led the company to prepare for investing in a second solar power plant in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to continuing to contribute to the environment, the project will contribute to the job market, generating job vacancies and boosting the economy in the sector.
