The Federal Government Is Open Enrollment for Free Online Programming Courses; The Qualifica Mais Program Has 6,069 Open Positions
More than 6,000 spots are open for free programming courses through the federal government. The Qualifica Mais project, from the Ministries of Education (MEC) and Economy, is offering courses in the area of Information and Communication Technologies. The courses last 200 hours and will be conducted in a distance education format.
Free and Online Programming Courses
In the first phase of the Qualifica Mais project, 6,069 spots will be offered for free in the following information and communication technology courses, with an approximate duration of 200 hours.
The distance education courses offered are:

Petrobras and SENAI open 480 spots in free technical courses with a scholarship of up to R$ 858, meal allowance, and training in Mechanics, Welding, Metallurgy, and Industrial Automation to meet the growing demand of the industry and the oil and gas sector.

Take a technical course at the Federal Institute: there are over 950 open spots in free technical courses in Logistics, Mechanics, Baking, Building Construction, and Renewable Energy Systems at IFPI.

Electricians School begins a new phase of training with 600 spots for a free technical course at Senai and strengthens the connection between professional education, technological innovation, and concrete opportunities for market entry.

The state of Paraná offers 3,500 free technical course slots in 2026 and begins a new phase of professional training with enrollment open until June 30, strengthening workforce development in sectors that drive the regional economy.

Prerequisites to Enroll in the Qualifica Mais Program
Priority is given to young workers under 29 years old. To enroll, interested parties must reside in one of the 11 cities offering the courses or in several major cities and have completed high school. The free programming courses will cover content aimed at developing skills for the job market to assist students in entering and integrating into the formal labor market.
These free courses are offered in a virtual learning environment at the Paula Souza Center, with intermediate teachers to support the development of the activities and clarify participants’ questions. After completing the programming activities, the young person will receive a certificate of completion.
How to Enroll
Depending on the vacancy situation, candidates who meet the prerequisites will receive an email confirming their enrollment directly at the admissions agency.
Stages:
- Enrollment Period – until April 25;
- Send emails to other interested parties starting April 29;
- Prerequisite and Confirmation – starting April 15;
- Classes Start on May 24.

iFood Opens 120 Scholarships for Free Programming Courses
The company iFood along with Cubos Academy have opened enrollment for free programming courses; 120 scholarships are being offered.
iFood and Cubos Academy have opened 120 scholarships for free programming courses. From May 31, 2021, to November 19, 2021, these courses will be conducted entirely online. The objective of the program is to train people who cannot utilize technology to understand software programming.
The training will start from the beginning, meaning you do not need any programming knowledge, and a complete course will be provided to train you as a software developer. Candidates will learn about HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, Logic, Database, SQL, NODE.JS, React, and GIT.
To be eligible to participate, it is essential that the candidate’s family per capita income is equal to or less than 1.5 minimum wages. The classes will also have the following distribution criteria: At least 50% women; At least 50% black individuals; At least 30% iFood partners; and At least 15% residents of Salvador/Bahia. The courses will also prioritize transgender individuals, people with disabilities, and candidates who are currently attending or have completed high school in public schools.
