Companies and Onshore Activities in the Oil and Gas Industry Allowed in Macaé – Construction Material and IT Material Stores Must Adhere to the New Hours of Operation, from 10 AM to 4 PM
On the Friday of the previous week (7th), the decree 113/2020 was signed by the mayor of Macaé, where Dr. Aluizio, through a permit, allows activities involving the oil and gas industry, onshore companies to operate during business hours between 8 AM and 6 PM.

Some Establishments in Macaé Must Reduce the Number of Employees
The government of Macaé-RJ adopted such measures following indicators that show a high level of contagion from the coronavirus in the municipality. Furthermore, with the resumption of onshore activities in the oil and gas industry in Macaé, many establishments with up to 9 employees must reduce this number. It is possible that there may even be layoffs or an early vacation period on the part of employers.
Similarly, the rules for establishments with more than 10 employees will operate differently; only 30% of their workforce should be reduced, and it is advised that these 30% be placed in home office if there is a minimal possibility.

Onshore Activities in the Oil and Gas Industry in Macaé Resumed
Finally, everyone involved with onshore activities in the oil and gas industry in Macaé-RJ, including employees, management positions, and partners who engage or are present in the company’s workplace, must undergo coronavirus testing. Tests may be conducted starting on the 10th at the Dona Alba Medical Specialties Center (Rua Governador Roberto Silveira, 108, Centro from 2 PM to 5 PM). From the same point of view, classes in schools remain suspended. The same decree signed on Friday also extends the suspension for another seven days, starting from next Monday (August 10). Undeniably, the suspension of classes in the municipal education system, both public and private, including higher education institutions continues.
