The Billions in Savings Can Be Used to Benefit Millions of Americans. Learn Details About Billionaire Musk’s Plan
An innovative and controversial proposal is drawing attention in the United States: the distribution of refund checks amounting to US$ 5,000 (about R$ 28,500) for millions of American taxpayers.
Although the idea has been associated with billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, the project titled “Doge Dividends” was originally proposed by James Fishback, CEO of the investment firm Azoria.
Musk’s initiative suggests that the funds for these payments would come from the savings generated by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an agency led by Musk, which would have the potential to save US$ 2 trillion by 2026. If implemented, the plan could benefit approximately 79 million American families, according to the website O Antagonista.

How Did the Idea of “Doge Dividends” Come About?
The proposal for Doge Dividends by Elon Musk emerged when James Fishback published his idea on the X platform (formerly Twitter). Musk, always attentive to themes of innovation and financial efficiency, expressed immediate interest and initiated the discussion about the project’s proposals.
Musk’s plan aims to use part of the savings generated by DOGE to fund these refund checks, turning wasted government spending into direct benefits for citizens.
Fishback is already known in the financial market for founding a fund that excludes companies that do not meet environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.
His proposal quickly caught Musk’s attention, who indicated that he would like to discuss the project with Donald Trump.
What is the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)?
The DOGE by Elon Musk was created with the goal of reducing waste in the U.S. government, through measures such as:
✔️ Fraud detection in government contracts and payments
✔️ Contract renegotiation to reduce
✔️ Sale of public assets considered obsolete
So far, DOGE claims to have already saved US$ 55 billion. However, an investigation by The New York Times raised questions about the accuracy of these figures, indicating that some savings may have been inflated.
