Musk also explains in the announcement that the reason he bought Twitter was that he believes it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital space where broad beliefs can be debated in a healthy way, without resorting to violence.

The confirmation of the purchase of Twitter will finally end the long tug-of-war between Musk and the social network’s management. In April, the billionaire made a total buy offer for the social network for US$ 43.4 billion.
