Watts announced the arrival of its first Brazilian electric motorcycle, which could heat up the domestic market. The vehicle with a 3 W electric motor hits the market in September, for R$ 20.
A strong competitor of Voltz and Shineray is coming to make the electric motorcycle market more competitive in Brazil, with the launch of the W125. The electric motorcycle from the Brazilian startup Watts Mobilidade must compete with models such as the Voltz EVS, the Super Soco TC and the Shineray SHE S, further heating up the sustainable urban mobility market in the national territory. The Brazilian electric motorcycle, as the name implies (Watts W125), has an electric motor that promises to offer a power similar to that found in 125-cylinder motorcycles.
Brazilian electric motorcycle hits the market later this year
Watts' electric vehicle will hit the Brazilian market in September and is currently only available through partnerships with the manufacturer. The W125, with a powerful electric motor, was developed with the aim of further warming up the Brazilian market for sustainable transport.
It provides an interesting alternative for pilots, who can choose between two different models: with just one or two lithium batteries that, in the latter case, work independently.
The Brazilian electric motorcycle Watts it has a CBS disc brake with the combined type system, that is, with braking divided between the front and rear axles. In addition, it has three riding modes with various power levels, LED headlight, front panel with LCD display and USB charger. The vehicle also has the reverse function, which for some safety reasons can only be turned on when the vehicle is completely stopped.
The model weighs about 71 kg without batteries, is 1,9 m long, 1,1 m high and 0,7 m wide, and can support up to 160 kg of cargo. According to data from Watts, the model is intended to move both in the city and outside, with total freedom, without any CO₂ emissions and noise, and will be on sale in cyan, black and red.
Autonomy of the Brazilian electric motorcycle is up to 150 km
The W125 offers two model options: one with just one lithium battery and the other with two. Each battery has 72V, 35ah and 2 charge cycles. According to the automaker, the vehicle, in addition to its great electric motor, has a range of up to 150 km, running at average power with two independent 72V lithium batteries.
The battery is easy to remove, both in single and dual modes, and does not need to be removed for charging. It is important to note that, although a full charge can take a total of 5 hours, the quick recharge of the model's components allows it to reach 80% of the total charge in just one hour. In addition, Watts points out that both the way of driving and the route can directly impact the autonomy of the electric motorcycle.
Brazilian electric motorcycle can travel up to 100 km / h
The 3 W electric motor promises to make the Brazilian electric motorcycle reach a final speed of up to 100 km/h in some specific conditions.
The company points out that higher powers can consume more battery charge and each power option reaches different levels of speed, with low power reaching 50 km/h, the average hitting up to 70 km/h and, finally, the high power reaching 100 km/h.
Although not yet officially on sale, the Watts model has values that can vary between R$ 19.990, for the model with only one lithium battery, and R$ 24.990, for the version with two batteries.
