However, the company did not disclose the exact value of the agreements, which ensure the offshore transportation of passengers and small cargoes to the Campos Basin, the main sedimentary area already explored on the Brazilian coast, in the next 4 to 5 years.
Offshore Transportation in Brazil Is Expected to Start Operating in the 2nd Half of 2023
The helicopter company explained that the offshore transportation projects in Brazil are set to kick off in the second half of 2023, with the winning bids based on a “public competition” held in August 2022. To support these contracts, CHC Brazil will operate five Leonardo AW139 helicopters from its new base in Brazil. Campos dos Goytacazes, Bartolomeu Lisandro Airport, and Eurico de Aguiar Salles Airport in Vitória.
CHC expects to increase its fleet to approximately 10 medium and large aircraft with the acquisition of these new contracts, which will also support new jobs in the region, with the helicopter operator expanding its workforce in Brazil to approximately 280.

Additionally, CHC highlighted that it has “significant long-term growth plans” for Latin America and already operates in Brazil and Mexico, and previously in Suriname, Uruguay, and the Falkland Islands.
