What is 5G:
5G technology is the next generation of mobile internet network. The promise is that it will bring even more speed for downloads and uploads, wider coverage, and more stable connections.
The idea is to use the best radio spectrum and allow more devices to access mobile internet at the same time. According to experts, 5G will enable more than 1 million devices to connect per square meter.
The 5G Network in Brazil:
The technology is expected to fully arrive in Brazil only next year. The auction for 5G in the country is set to be the largest radio frequency auction in the country’s history and the largest public offering of capacity for fifth-generation mobile technology in the world.
Originally scheduled for late 2020, the auction was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria (PSD-RN).
