The Norwegian Subsea Services Company Reach Subsea Has Signed a Three-Year Contract with Equinor to Perform Work on the Country’s Continental Shelf and Internationally Until 2026.
The agreement covers the full range of Reach Subsea services, the company said. Reach Subsea’s CEO, Jostein Alendal, stated that the platform work contract will provide a significant boost to the growth and utilization of Reach Subsea’s modernized and expanded conventional fleet, as well as Reach Remote’s unmanned fleet, with the first two vessels expected to be launched in 2023.
“I would also like to emphasize that we now offer our clients a complete range of services, including the data research and processing services we acquired through the acquisitions of iSurvey and Octio”, Alendal said. The contract encompasses all of Reach Subsea’s core activities, including installation support, subsea intervention, and various forms of underwater research and monitoring.
Company Prepares Operation in the Gas Framework
Reach Subsea also announced that, under a framework agreement with Equinor, it granted a first request for gravity research campaigns in four gas fields operated by Equinor in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and the Barents Sea.

How ERPs and SaaS are Transforming Sales in the Oil and Gas Sector
The company stated that the work will include the use of cutting-edge technology from the Reach Subsea Monitoring Group (formerly known as Octio). The activities will be carried out aboard the newly acquired light research/construction vessel ROV Viking Reach (formerly Edda Sun), and the work will last approximately two months, starting in the second quarter of 2023.
The winning bid includes the option for additional work within the capabilities of the framework contract, for which the vessel will deploy a research ROV SROV, as well as a work-class ROV and research equipment mounted on the hull.
Equinor Begins Offshore Installation Activities at the Bacalhau Field
Equinor announced that it has begun offshore installation activities at the Bacalhau field, in the Santos Basin. The work is being carried out under a comprehensive EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contract with SIA (Subsea Integration Alliance, a partnership between OneSubsea® and Subsea7).
The Seven Pacific, construction/flexible lay vessel from Subsea7, has the capacity to operate at depths of up to three kilometers and is the first offshore installation vessel to operate on the asset, installing infrastructure (submarine umbilicals, risers, and pipeline).
This is a great model of collaboration between Equinor, Subsea7, and its scientific partner, the National Oceanography Center, supporting the company’s focus on sustainability to study more about the sea, which is key to understanding the impact of climate change on ecosystems and environmental impact issues. Data from the Seven Pacific campaign will be accessible to scientists and universities in Brazil and globally to better understand our oceans.
