With 373 cm³ Engine, Four Riding Modes and Traction Control, the New Bajaj Dominar NS400Z Arrives in October at Dealerships for R$ 26,900, Promising More Lightness, Technology and Quick Response in Daily Use

Bajaj has decided to expand its presence in the mid-displacement segment in Brazil with a direct bet on those seeking agility, performance, and a sporty look. The new Dominar NS400Z, produced in Manaus (AM), arrives at dealerships this October with a clear proposal: to deliver a lighter bike than the Dominar 400 but with the same 373.27 cm³ engine recalibrated for quicker responses at low revs.

The brand targets the launch at an audience familiar with the D400 who wanted a motorcycle with a more agile behavior in urban use and an even more aggressive look.

373 cm³ Engine with Quicker Responses

The NS400Z uses the same liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with dual overhead camshaft (DOHC), capable of generating 40 hp at 8,500 rpm and 3.57 kgf.m of torque at 7,000 rpm. The difference lies in the tuning of the engine: Bajaj worked to deliver power earlier, improving elasticity and facilitating acceleration at low and medium revs.

This setup becomes even more interesting because the new bike weighs 18 kg less than the Dominar 400. This reduction improves the power-to-weight ratio and translates into more vigorous acceleration and a lighter feel during direction changes.

Inverted Suspension and Two-Channel ABS Brakes

The dynamic proposal of the NS400Z is reinforced by its chassis setup. The model uses a perimeter frame and 43 mm inverted front suspension (USD), a solution associated with sporty motorcycles. At the rear, the Nitrox mono-shock helps maintain stability, especially in curves and during more intense urban use.

The braking system features discs on both wheels and two-channel ABS, ensuring greater safety during braking. The tubeless tires, measuring 110/70 R17 at the front and 140/70 R17 at the rear, mounted on alloy wheels, complete the package.

Advanced Electronics and Riding Modes

Another aspect that brings the NS400Z closer to more sophisticated models is the electronic package. The bike comes with traction control and four riding modes — Sport, Road, Rain, and Off-Road — allowing the rider to adjust power delivery according to the terrain and riding style.

For daily use, the six-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch helps prevent jerks during downshifts, making gear changes smoother. The lighting is Full LED with DRL, and the digital dashboard features Bluetooth connectivity, providing access to navigation, calls, and smartphone notifications. There is also a USB port and a 12V 8Ah VRLA battery.

Versatile Ergonomics and Streetfighter Style

Bajaj also worked on ergonomics to accommodate different motorcycle rider profiles. The seat height is 807 mm and the weight in running order is 174 kg, figures that, combined with the 12-liter tank, position the NS400Z as a bike ready for daily use and medium-distance commutes.

The muscular design, inspired by streetfighters, reinforces the urban and sporty character, while the bodywork with sharp angles gives the NS400Z the appearance of a larger displacement motorcycle.

Competitive Price and Four Color Options

The Dominar NS400Z arrives in the Brazilian market with a suggested retail price of R$ 26,900.00, free shipping, and four color options: Glossy Racing Red, Brooklyn Black, Pewter Grey, and Pearl Metallic White. With this, Bajaj expands its national lineup to six models and strengthens its presence in one of the country’s most competitive segments.
