A new survey shows that the circular economy is gaining traction among Brazilians, but the preference for conventional products still hinders the sector’s progress, affecting investments, green job creation, and long-term environmental goals.
It is important to remember that the submarine (S-40) named “Riachuelo” was launched from the Naval Shipyard of Itaguaí on December 14, 2018 and is equipped with armaments capable of patrolling areas where the Pre-Salt will be explored.
As reported by Click Petróleo e Gás, the construction works of the submarines in Itaguaí are well advanced, and the four hull sections of the second submarine, the “Humaitá” are already at the ICN, coming from UFEM, which is also located in Itaguaí.
The Prosub program provides for the construction of four submarines; after the Riachuelo comes the Humaitá (S41), with a launch scheduled for 2020, the Tonelero (S42) in 2021, and the Angostura (S43) in 2022.
A fifth unit is planned, but its propulsion will be nuclear, and the project, which will also be executed at the Itaguaí Shipyard, is progressing smoothly.
