Enel Project Aims to Promote Equality in the Labor Market Through Free Vocational Course. See How It Works
Women interested in working as electricians can apply to participate in an exclusive free course offered by Enel Distribuição Rio, a company that operates in the generation and distribution of electricity in the Lagos Region of Rio. Applications for the program, which has 20 spots, began on Friday, December 3, will continue until December 10, and must be made online.

The idea of the free course is part of a project organized by the company, which aims to provide social and economic development for the communities in the area, through workshops and integration into the job market.
According to Cláudia Guimarães, Director of Sustainability Projects in Distribution at Enel Brazil, the main goal is to boost the inclusion of specialized labor and professionally train individuals who identify with the female gender in the job market, through the training acquired in the free course.

The free course, which will be taught by Firjan SENAI, is focused on training in low-voltage network electrician. According to the utility, 20% of the spots will be allocated to women in remission or undergoing treatment for breast cancer. At the end of the training, the students may be hired by Enel Rio’s partner companies.
About the Electrician Course
Classes are scheduled to start in January 2022, with a total workload of 40 days, consisting of 30 days online and 10 days in-person, totaling 240 hours. The practical training, in-person format, will be held at the Operational Excellence Center in Cabo Frio.
Who Can Participate in the Course
To participate in the free course, applicants must have completed high school, be over 18 years old, reside in the Lagos Region (Cabo Frio, Búzios, Araruama, and Arraial do Cabo), and be registered as Enel Rio customers.
Regarding women in remission or undergoing cancer treatment, in addition to the mentioned documents, they will need to present a medical report from occupational health provided by Firjan SESI.
How to Apply
The free registration can be done online, until December 10, and the selection process will be conducted in three evaluation stages, which are eliminatory and classificatory.
- 1 – complete the registration via the online form;
- 2 – participate in the interview for technical profile assessment;
- 3 – finalize enrollment, presenting the required documentation at the end of the selection
The final announcement of the names of the selected applicants for Enel’s free course will be made via phone or email, between December 15 and 17.
