Until early 2023, Brazil’s beef exports have grown faster than the global average. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates that the country’s industry will trade 3.5% more than in 2022.
The volume of exports from Brazil last year was 2.345 million tons. According to the USDA, total global beef exports have only grown by 0.5% this year.
Brazil’s Exports will be positive in 2023. That said, according to estimates from the U.S. agency, Brazil will be a positive hub for the production and transport of animal protein in 2023.

Understand About Brazil’s Beef Exports
Brazil is one of the largest producers of beef in the world, and decades of investment in technology have not only increased productivity but also improved the quality of Brazilian products, making them competitive and accessible to markets in over 150 countries.
In 2015, China had the largest cattle herd in the world (209 million heads), the second largest consumer of beef (38.6 kg/resident/year), and the second largest exporter of beef (1.9 million tons), with a slaughter volume of over 39 million heads.
In other words, 80% of the beef consumed by Brazilians is produced in the country – an industrial processing sector that slaughters about 200,000 cattle a day. It is responsible for 6% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or 30% of the agribusiness GDP, with revenues exceeding R$ 400 billion, a growth of nearly 45% in the last 5 years.
