Even With Its Jacareí Plant In São Paulo Recently Closed, Caoa Chery Plans To Use It To Bring More Electric Cars To Brazil
The car manufacturer Caoa Chery still has plans for its Jacareí plant in the Paraíba Valley, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. Even though it was recently closed, the São Paulo facility, which produced the Tiggo 3X Pro and the Arrizo 6 Pro, is expected to host more electric car models from the Sino-Brazilian automaker in the future.
This information was provided by the CEO of Caoa Chery, Mauro Correia, to colleagues at Automotive Business. He mentions that the Jacareí plant in São Paulo was modernized in 2018 to accommodate electric car production kits, but some changes will need to be made to expand the company’s production line.
Additionally, the automaker has just launched a complete line of electric cars in Brazil, some of which will be produced at the Anápolis plant in Goiás, since the Jacareí plant in São Paulo was recently closed. Only one of the cars will be imported, the Caoa Chery iCar, the cheapest electric vehicle in Brazil today and a main competitor to models like the Renault Kwid E-Tech and JAC E-JS1.

Oil Companies Consider Charging For Electric Car Charging At Fuel Stations
Companies are starting to focus on opportunities to generate profits from electric car charging at fuel stations. The aim is to provide ultra-fast or fast charging for those who own electric cars.
In general, it is possible to charge electric cars in about 20 minutes. Among the various companies, Shell plans to install 35 charging stations at fuel stations in Brazil by the end of next year. Another major player in the sector, Petrobras, plans to build at least 70 electric car charging points by the end of next year.
In the case of Petrobras, the news came in July of this year. Vibra, a licensed company of the brand, inaugurated the first charging station. The location has three charging points and, according to the company, the plugs comply with CCS-2, CHAdeMO, an abbreviation of CHArge de MOve, equivalent to Charge Movement, and also Type 2 connector. The maximum output power of the electric car charging station is 150 kW in direct current or 45 kW in alternating current.
The charging point was built at the Petrobras Arco-Íris station, located in the city of Roseira, São Paulo, on the Via Dutra. Thus, electric car owners will have this convenience to reach Rio de Janeiro through the charging points at fuel stations.
Initially, customers can charge their vehicles completely free of charge. Those registered in the Premmia program will still accumulate ten times more points.
