MEC and UFSJ Opened Registrations for a Free and 100% Distance Learning Course in Special Education. The Training, with 120 Hours, is Aimed at Teachers and Educational Managers. The Classes Include Accessibility Resources and Recognized Certification. Registrations Until February 20, 2025. Don’t Miss This Chance!

Continuing education has become essential for educators who wish to enhance their pedagogical practices and meet the demands of a more inclusive education.

With the growing need for training in the area of special education, a new opportunity arises for teachers from all over Brazil.

Registrations Open for Special Education Course

The Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with the Federal University of São João del-Rei (UFSJ), is open for registrations for the Extension Course in Special Education from an Inclusive Education Perspective.

The training is entirely free and conducted in a distance learning format (EAD), allowing teachers and educational managers access to updated content on inclusion and accessibility.

The training has a workload of 120 hours and will be offered through the Center for Distance Education (NEAD/UFSJ), in conjunction with the Open University of Brazil (UAB/CAPES) program.

The course is set to begin in March 2025 and will bring active methodologies aimed at improving pedagogical practices focused on inclusive education.

Methodology and Structure of the Course

The training will include synchronous and asynchronous activities conducted in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA).

Among the available resources, participants will have live classes, video lessons, interactive tutorials, teaching materials, and practical assessments.

To ensure accessibility, the course will also provide resources such as captions, Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), audio description, and inclusive teaching materials.

Participants will receive support from a team of specialized tutors, each responsible for groups of up to 50 students, ensuring individualized support throughout the training.

The assessment activities are designed to promote the practical application of the content learned, and to obtain the certificate of completion, students must achieve at least 60% success in the assessments.

Vacancies and Target Audience

The notice published by UFSJ offers a total of 3,292 vacancies for the training. The following can apply:

  • Teachers and managers of basic education;
  • Higher education teachers;
  • Instructors of technical courses;
  • Teachers from private schools;
  • Assistant teachers;
  • Students of degree programs with active ties.

Course Differentials and Career Impact

Participation in this course represents an excellent opportunity for professional development, as it offers updated content, innovative teaching strategies, and a practical approach to educational inclusion.

Furthermore, the course features certification recognized nationally, an important differential for those wishing to advance in their academic and professional careers.

Another relevant aspect is the flexibility of distance learning, which allows participants to balance training with their daily activities without compromising the quality of learning.

With specialized support and accessible resources, the course becomes an indispensable tool for educators seeking to prepare for the challenges of inclusive education.

Why Participate?

The Extension Course in Special Education is a unique opportunity for educators wishing to expand their knowledge of inclusion and accessibility in the school environment.

The free training, the EAD format, and the recognized certification make the program an excellent option for enhancing academic and professional careers.

In addition to strengthening pedagogical practices aimed at inclusion, the course prepares professionals to operate more effectively in a constantly changing educational landscape.

With the increasing demand for teachers trained to address diversity in the school environment, investing in this training can open new job opportunities.

How to Enroll

Registrations are already open and can be made until February 20, 2025, exclusively through the NEAD/UFSJ website (https://nead.ufsj.edu.br/portal/editais/edabertos).
