Objective of Technical Courses and Course Load

The duration varies between three and four years, depending on the chosen area, always with activities such as lectures, laboratories, seminars, and periodic assessments.
In some technical courses, supervised internship is mandatory, enhancing the practical experience of the student before graduation.

Available Positions and Offering Locations
In total, there are 1,740 positions distributed among the mentioned campuses. Half of them are designated for Open Competition and the other half for the Reserved Position System, aimed at students from public schools, according to the Law No. 14,723/2023.
This system includes racial quotas, quilombola, people with disabilities, and low-income students, ensuring that access to the technical course is fairer and more inclusive.
Selection Process for Free Courses in Rio de Janeiro
The selection will be made through a written test, with 30 multiple-choice questions, divided between Portuguese Language and Mathematics.
Approval requires a minimum of eight correct answers, without scoring zero in any subject. Furthermore, candidates opting for reserved positions will need to go through document verification phases, such as income proof, racial self-declaration, or medical report, depending on the chosen group.
Registration Requirements
To apply, candidates must have completed Fundamental Education and be a maximum of 17 years old by the date of enrollment.
It is mandatory to present one’s own CPF, an official photo ID, and complete the socioeconomic questionnaire at the time of registration.
As technical courses are in-person, students must have availability to attend classes in the defined shifts and, in cases where there is an internship, be able to fulfill it.

- Registration Fee: payment by September 29, 2025 (R$ 70.00, with the possibility of exemption until August 17)
- Preliminary Confirmation of Registration: October 8, 2025
- Written Test: November 23, 2025
- Preliminary Answer Key: November 24, 2025
- Final Exam Results: December 18, 2025
- Enrollment: January 26 to 30, 2026
- Start of Classes: March 2026
How to Register
Registrations must be made exclusively online, on the IDECAN website (idecan.org.br), until September 28, 2025. Each candidate may choose only one campus and one technical course. The registration will only be confirmed after the payment of the fee or approval of the exemption. The certificate issued at the end of the course has national validity and ensures a medium-level technical education.
