Have You Completed Elementary School? Over 2.2 Free Slots in Technical Courses Offered by the Federal Institute for Young People and Adults; No Age Limit, Selection Process Without Exams and No Registration Fee!
The Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE) has launched Notice No. 48/2025, which opens 2,243 free slots for integrated and subsequent technical courses to high school in the 2026.1 selection process.
This time, admission will be based without an exam, based on the analysis of the candidates’ school records.
Registration will be open from October 7 to November 10, 2025, and the final result will be announced on December 16, 2025.
This initiative reinforces IFPE’s commitment to democratic access to public professional and technological education, allowing students to enroll based on their academic performance rather than just traditional exams.

Who Can Participate
The notice encompasses two types of free courses:
- Integrated Technical Courses: intended for those who have completed elementary school and wish to pursue high school along with technical training.
- Subsequent Technical Courses: aimed at those who have already completed high school and want to obtain a professional qualification.
All courses are in-person, free and taught by the permanent faculty of the federal institute, with diplomas recognized by the MEC and valid nationwide.
Free Technical Courses Offered in 2026.1 by the Federal Institute
According to Annex A of Notice No. 48/2025, IFPE offers 2,243 slots distributed across its various campuses and centers. The list of courses is extensive and diverse, catering to industrial, technological, environmental, and service sectors.

These courses are offered in campuses such as Recife, Garanhuns, Belo Jardim, Ipojuca, Caruaru, Barreiros, Afogados da Ingazeira, Palmares, Paulista, Pesqueira, Abreu e Lima, and Vitória de Santo Antão, expanding access to technical training in all regions of the state.
Selection Process Without an Exam
The selection process will be exclusively based on the analysis of the candidate’s school record, without an exam.
The grades in Portuguese and Mathematics from the final years of elementary school (for integrated courses) or high school (for subsequent courses) will be considered.
The system will compute a simple arithmetic average between the two grades presented, and candidates will be ranked according to the score obtained. In case of a tie, those with higher age will have priority.
Quota Policies and Social Inclusion
IFPE maintains its policy of inclusion and social equity. Of the total slots, 60% are reserved for candidates from public schools, following Law No. 12.711/2012 (Quota Law).
Within this group, there is specific reserve for low-income students, blacks, browns, indigenous, quilombolas and people with disabilities (PwD).
Furthermore, courses with an agricultural profile maintain 25% additional slots for candidates from rural areas, such as family farmers, fishermen, shellfish gatherers, and members of rural communities.
These actions reinforce the role of the federal institute as an agent of social transformation.

The free courses at IFPE are recognized for their strong insertion in the job market and for the solid foundation they provide to students.
