Free And 100% Online Course Has Selection By Raffle And Offers 120 Spots For Professionals From Different Areas; Enrollment Runs Until The End Of October And Classes Start In March 2026.

The Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG), through the Ribeirão das Neves Campus, is accepting applications until October 31, 2025 for the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Course in Education, offered in a distance learning and free format.

The course will start on March 2, 2026, with 120 spots available.

The selection will be made by public raffle, with no need for tests or curriculum analysis, according to Notice No. 990/2025.

Free And Fully Online Course

According to IFMG, the specialization will be conducted entirely in a virtual learning environment Moodle, with a minimum of 360 hours.

The course includes mandatory and elective subjects, as well as the preparation of a Final Paper in the format of a scientific article or technical report.

According to the notice, the goal is to enhance the qualification of professionals interested in educational practices and policies, offering complementary training at the specialization level.

Who Can Participate

Applications are open for education professionals with a bachelor’s degree and graduates from any area — licensed, bachelor’s or technologists — who are interested in educational topics.

The notice also permits the participation of students nearing graduation, as long as they can present their diploma by the start of classes, scheduled for March 2026.

Distribution Of Spots

Out of the 120 spots, 70 are designated for general competition.

The others are reserved for affirmative actions, with 30 for self-declared black or brown people, 12 for people with disabilities, 4 for indigenous people, 2 for quilombolas, and 2 for transgender or transvestite people.

IFMG informs that, if any of these categories do not have enough candidates, the unfilled spots will be redirected to the general competition.

Selection Process And Timetable

The selection will be made by public raffle, broadcast live on November 14, 2025, as provided in the notice.

The preliminary result is expected to be announced on November 17, followed by verification and appeals stages.

The final result is scheduled for January 6, 2026.

Between February 23 and 27, 2026, IFMG will hold online orientation activities with the approved candidates.

The start of classes is set for March 2, 2026.

Structure And Methodology

The course will be offered in a 100% online format, with no mandatory in-person meetings.

According to IFMG, the methodology aims to provide flexibility in scheduling, allowing participants to organize their study routine according to their availability.

The subjects and activities will be conducted by professors from the federal network and invited guests, with monitoring through forums and evaluation tasks within the Moodle system.

Documentation For Quotas And Affirmative Actions

Candidates who opt for the reserved spots must present specific supporting documents.

Among them, a racial-ethnic self-declaration (with subsequent hetero-identification for black or brown individuals), an updated medical report for people with disabilities, and a declaration of belonging issued by a recognized leader in the case of indigenous people.

Quilombolas and transgender or transvestite individuals must also attach documentation according to the criteria described in the notice.

All information and templates are available in the application form.

Application Fee And Waiver

The notice foresees an application fee, the amount of which must be confirmed in the application system.

Candidates registered in the Unified Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) can request a fee waiver between October 6 and 15, 2025.

The result of the waiver requests will be announced on October 17.

Those who do not obtain the waiver may make the payment and complete their application until October 31, 2025.

The list of approved applications eligible for the raffle will be published on November 10.

Course Coordinator

Although the title of the process mentions UFMG, the course is exclusively offered by the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG).

The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) maintains its own selection processes and is not linked to this notice.

IFMG is a federal public institution of higher education linked to the Ministry of Education, operating in several cities in Minas Gerais, including Ribeirão das Neves.

How To Enroll

Applications must be made exclusively online, through the electronic form available on the IFMG Ribeirão das Neves website, until 11:59 PM on October 31, 2025.

The candidate needs to fill in the required information, attach the mandatory documentation, and if applicable, request a waiver within the deadline.

Only candidates with approved applications will participate in the raffle. IFMG recommends that interested parties carefully read the notice before submitting documents.
